RPSC AEN Exam Pattern

RPSC AEN written exam is conducted in two successive stages i.e.

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Main Examination
Preliminary Examination
  • It consists of one compulsory paper and one optional paper (both objective).
  • Pre Exam carries a maximum of 400 marks.
  • The marks obtained in the Pre Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
Section – A
Compulsory Paper Max. Marks/Time
G.K & G.S including General knowledge of Rajasthan its Geography, Economy & culture 200/2 hrs


Section – B
Optional Paper Max. Marks/Time
Civil Engineering 200/2 hrs
Electrical Engineering 200/2 hrs
Mechanical Engineering 200/2 hrs
Agricultural Engineering 200/2 hrs
Main Examination
  • Main written exam consists of one compulsory paper and one optional paper (conventional type)
  • The candidate must take all the compulsory subjects and any one of the optional subjects i.e either of the following
    • Civil Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Agricultural Engineering
  • Each of the optional subjects will have two papers.

Paper – II Social aspects of Engineering 100
Paper Optional Subject Maximum Marks
Paper – III and IV Anyone subject to opted by a candidate from the following list of optional subjects 200
Personal Interview
  • Candidates securing minimum qualifying marks in the Main examination shall be summoned by them for interview
  • In interviewing marks shall also be awarded for the candidate’s knowledge of the Rajasthani culture.
  • If a candidate’s handwriting is not easily legible, a deduction will be made on this account from the total marks otherwise accruing to him.
  • Credit will be given for orderly, effective and exact expression combined with due economy of words in all subjects of the examination.
  • It is obligatory for a candidate to appear in all the compulsory papers and in optional papers.
